1. Muted
Synopsis- “Sergio is released from prison 6 years after murdering his parents when he was still a minor. During that time, Sergio has not said a word. Ana Dussel, a young psychiatrist, tries to uncover the whole story.”

The premise of Piper’s new psychological thriller is that a young man named Sergio develops selective mutism after supposedly throwing both of his parents out of a high-rise apartment. Literally. As Sergio refuses to talk about what happened, a psychologist decides to release him from juvenile detention to study his behaviour as he returns to the scene of the crime.

However, it’s not long before Sergio starts chatting to a bunch of people in the show, which means he’s not as muted as the title might suggest. Still, what’s bound to get viewers talking by the end of these six episodes is that ambiguous yet disturbing end scene.

2. Beef
Synopsis- “Two strangers get into a road rage incident that brings chaos into their lives.”

Beef creates commanding television by twisting the idea of a fateful encounter. Usually, when humans talk about chance meetings with other humans, we think of the positive. Like there’s a one in 8 billion chance of meeting your soulmate, or it’s some kind of lucky coincidence that a stranger may change your life for the better. People come into your life for a reason, we’re told (often by people who have seemingly come into our lives to dispense this saccharine view of the world).

Beef proposes the frightening scenario in which a once-in-a-lifetime moment could result in finding your mortal enemy, and the terrifying possibility that someone we’ve never met before could change our lives for the worse.

3. Fake Profile
Synopsis- “Camila meets her Prince Charming through a dating app; after an idyllic romance, she makes plans to surprise him, only to end up trapped in paradise.”

From drama and action to emotional sequences, the show contains every element to make it more than entertaining… it contains major plot twists that will definitely leave you utterly shocked. With the addition of steamy and sensual scenes, it can be compared to the 365 Days trilogy but with a better plot.

4. Queen Charlotte
Synopsis- “The young queen’s marriage to King George of England ushers in an epic love story and transforms high society.”

Queen Charlotte is great comic relief in the main series, and sure, there have been some touching moments that hint at her tragic love story with King George and it was something we particularly wanted to see more of. It’s true, Queen Charlotte was produced as a limited series — i.e. one and done — but if it were to get a second season, it certainly wouldn’t be the first time a limited series has continued. The series is an astronomical success for Netflix and even gave another viewing boost to the original series.

5. Never Have I Ever

Synopsis- “After a traumatic year, a first-generation Indian-American teenager wants to improve her status at school, but friends, family, and feelings don’t make it easy on her.”

Netflix’s “Never Have I Ever” Season 4 opens new chapters for all characters, including Vishwakumar matriarch Nirmala (Ranjita Chakravarty) when she marries her new love Len (Jeff Garlin).

Nirmala’s wedding ceremony provides the last scene where everyone — Devi’s family and friends — come together before the show ends. The scene meant a lot to Poorna Jagannathan, who plays Nalini, Nirmala’s daughter-in-law and Devi’s mother.
