Two Individuals Charged for Hanging from Moving Mercedes Benz on Mombasa Road

NAIROBI, Kenya, April 23- Two individuals faced charges at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi after a video emerged showing them dangerously hanging from a moving vehicle on Mombasa Road.

Peleg Mosongo Monari and Peter Igadwa Aggrey were accused of violating traffic laws by riding in a hazardous position, specifically sitting on the door of a Mercedes Benz with registration number KCX 959B, on April 20, 2024, at approximately 3:00 PM.

Both defendants pleaded not guilty and are currently remanded pending a pre-sentencing report.

The driver, Loise Apata, remains at large, while the vehicle involved has been impounded at the Nairobi Area Traffic Headquarters.

The reckless behavior was captured on video by occupants of another vehicle, who attempted to warn the individuals of the danger they posed to themselves and other road users.

Despite the warnings, the two men continued to enjoy themselves, dancing and displaying obliviousness to the risks involved.
