NAIROBI, Kenya, March 8- A 33-year-old man who was discovered unconscious with stab wounds in an apartment where a woman tragically fell to her death in Kasarani has now recovered and been discharged from the hospital.

Lawrence Gitonga, the man in question, appeared in Makadara Law Courts on Thursday, where the prosecution requested more time to conclude murder investigations.

Granting the request, the court allowed police to detain Gitonga for 14 days to facilitate further investigations into the incident, which occurred on March 2 in Thome, Kasarani, Nairobi.

Gitonga was apprehended after a caretaker reported finding the body of 20-year-old Juanitor Mbula Nzomo near the White House apartment. Upon arrival, police found Gitonga inside the apartment with multiple stab wounds, indicating a possible struggle.

He received medical treatment before being released from the hospital on March 6 and taken into police custody. CCTV footage captured Gitonga and the woman checking into the flat early on March 2, following a night of revelry.

Tragically, the woman was later discovered deceased, having fallen from the balcony of the apartment. A postmortem revealed injuries consistent with a fall from height, prompting investigators to consider various possibilities, including suicide, accident, or homicide.

Police continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the incident, which remains shrouded in uncertainty.
