2 Planes Crash Mid-Air Over Nairobi Claiming Two Lives Sparks Investigation

NAIROBI, Kenya, March 5- Tragedy struck the skies over Nairobi as two planes collided mid-air, claiming the lives of two individuals.
Among the victims were a trainee pilot and an instructor, both aboard a Cessna aircraft operated by the Ninety-Nines Flying School.
The collision resulted in a devastating crash within Nairobi National Park, instantly ending the lives of those on board.
The other aircraft involved, a Dash 8 belonging to Safarilink Aviation Limited, was en route to Diani with 39 passengers and 5 crew members when it experienced a sudden jolt shortly after take-off.
Fortunately, quick decision-making by the crew led to a safe return to Nairobi-Wilson Airport, with no injuries reported among the passengers or crew.
Safarilink Aviation promptly issued a statement acknowledging the incident and assuring the public of their commitment to safety.
Meanwhile, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has initiated a thorough investigation, enlisting various agencies including the Air Accident Investigation Department (MID) and the National Police Service to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
