NAIROBI, Kenya, March 1- Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba expressed profound disappointment, stating he felt “sad, shocked, and heartbroken” after receiving a four-year ban from football due to a doping violation.

The 30-year-old French international was temporarily suspended in September following a positive test for elevated testosterone levels.

Pogba, who plans to appeal, emphasized feeling unjustly stripped of his professional achievements. He maintained his innocence, declaring he would never intentionally use banned substances to enhance performance.

“Everything I have built in my professional career has been taken away from me,” he said in a statement.

The ban, backdated to the date of the failed test, effectively sidelines him until 2027. Pogba’s agent insisted on his client’s adherence to regulations, while the governing body highlighted the presence of prohibited substances in his system.
