NAIROBI, Kenya, February 23- Asenath Rotich, the widow of the late Kelvin Kiptum, bid a tearful farewell to her husband, expressing heartfelt praises and deep emotions.

Rotich, visibly moved, shared that they had plans to celebrate their love with a vibrant wedding ceremony in April of this year, only to have those plans shattered by Kiptum’s untimely passing.

“My dear love, I can’t learn how to say goodbye to you with weak fingers and pain in my heart. It is unbelievable that today I have learnt to stay with our beloved kids without you coming home again,” she said.

She also vowed to take care of their two young children.

“I promise to gather my strength for the sake of our children. I hope that the spirit world will inspire me to stand as a pillar to our children. I promise to make them smile in your honour,” she added.

Addressing her beloved late husband, she struggled to bid him goodbye, overwhelmed by grief and the pain of his absence. She expressed disbelief at the reality of raising their cherished children without him by her side.

In mourning Kiptum as her soulmate, Rotich declared her enduring love, expressing the ache of missing him and holding onto the hope of a reunion in eternity.

Kiptum, she said, was the best husband whose life was cut short at a time when his star was shining bright.

“When your star was growing to be the brightest, God chose you. You have been the best father to our children; I clearly miss your company. Dance with angels until we meet again,” Rotich said.

Rotich concluded by bidding Kiptum to dance among the angels until they are reunited once more.

The funeral ceremony, attended by various dignitaries including President William Ruto, is being held at ASK Chepkorio grounds in Elgeiyo Marakwet. Kiptum will be laid to rest at his new home in Naiberi, Uasin Gishu.Ki
