Family, Friends, and Creatives Gather to Honor Reggae MC Njambi Koikai at Nairobi Vigil

NAIROBI, Kenya, June 12- Family, friends, and creatives gathered on Tuesday to mourn the passing of Reggae MC Njambi Koikai, also known as Fyah Mummah, at a vigil held at All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi.

The event was attended by Sports CS Ababu Namwamba, actress Jacky Vike (popularly known as Awinja), Talia Oyando, Shix Kapienga, and comedian Timothy Kimani (popularly known as Njugush).

Namwamba praised Koikai as a beloved figure in the entertainment industry and a dedicated human rights activist.

“Njambi was a beacon of hope and equity, tirelessly advocating for fairness in our society. Her dedication to justice and equity is a passion we shared,” Namwamba said.

Creatives, colleagues, and fans came together to celebrate the life of a woman who touched many lives, sharing tributes that highlighted her vibrant spirit, infectious energy, and commitment to making a difference.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday at Nairobi Chapel on Ngong Road, and she will be laid to rest on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Lang’ata Cemetery in Nairobi.
