Police Investigate Death of 23-Year-Old Man who Jumped from a Four-Story Hotel in Mombasa

NAIROBI, Kenya, January 16- Police are still investigating the mysterious case of a 23-year-old man who tragically lost his life by jumping from a four-story hotel situated in the Bondeni Old Town area, part of the Mombasa Central Business District.

The victim reportedly leaped from an open hotel window in the Bondeni area, landing on the pavement below.

The incident, occurring along Abdel Nasser Road, shocked local residents, with some recording the unfolding events on their mobile phones.

Despite initial efforts at Coast Provincial General Hospital to stabilize his condition, the man eventually succumbed to his injuries. This led to a police investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the plunge.

Upon searching his hotel room, evidence of vandalism emerged, including a damaged television set, curtains, and a lamp. Mombasa County police commander Stephen Matu reported, “He suffered internal injuries to his head and stomach and succumbed to his injuries at about 10:30 hours.”

Police officers who quickly arrived at the scene recorded witness statements as part of their ongoing probe to unravel the mystery surrounding the man’s actions.
