Investigators Make Progress in Roysambu Airbnb Murder Case: Unveiling CCTV Footage of Main Suspect

NAIROBI, Kenya, January 16 – After the disturbing murder that occurred on Sunday, the 14th, committed by an unidentified man, investigators from the DCI are still working to unravel the circumstances surrounding the killing of a young woman discovered in a Roysambu Airbnb.

The dismembered body of the woman was discovered in a dumpster shortly after she was seen in the company of a man who had booked an Airbnb on TRM Drive. According to initial police reports, the suspect secured the one-bedroom residence at Jully Mini Supermarket.

Detectives assigned to the case are facing challenges in determining the identity of the man responsible for the brutal murder. However, there has been reported progress, with Citizen TV stating that investigators made a breakthrough by accessing CCTV footage from nearby buildings, revealing a clear image of the main suspect.

As per the CCTV footage, the suspect’s final moments before the alleged murder were captured. The footage depicts the suspect walking and conversing on the phone around 4:20 pm on Saturday, January 13, outside a shop adjacent to the building where the victim’s body parts were later found. The suspect proceeds to approach the cashier, hands over his phone, receives a key, and then retrieves his phone.

In response to the incident, law enforcement has initiated a crackdown on Airbnb operators lacking CCTV cameras.
